Big Data Collections

Use Big Data Collections as controlled data sources for BigData fields and workflows.

Creating and managing a collection

  1. Choose New > Big Data Collection and enter a name beginning with a letter or _, followed only by letters, digits, or _.
  2. Add fields with a name, type, and optional Multiple flag. Types are Integer, Unsigned Integer, Float, Unsigned Float, Boolean, String, Color, and Picture.
  3. Remove unsaved rows as needed, then select Create Collection.
  4. In Open > My Collections, use Insert, Edit, and Remove for records. The query filter accepts expressions such as price > 3 && name =~ 'jac' and refreshes on Enter.

BigData Dropdown mappings are limited to String-compatible collection fields. Keep schemas stable after forms or workflows depend on them.

Safe configuration sequence

  1. Open Open > Collections. This area may be plan-gated.
  2. Create or select only an approved test collection.
  3. Define a minimal schema and test records that contain no personal or customer data.
  4. Use the collection through a BigData Dropdown, Big Data Row Viewer, or BigData Update workflow node.
  5. Verify filters cannot expose unrelated rows.

Keep collection access limited to the people and forms that need it, and test schema changes before applying them to production data.
