By using AbcSubmit drag and drop form builder, you are able to upload files on your online documents (forms or websites). Uploading a file require storage capabilities added to your account (which is a non-free feature). Depending on your account subscription type, you have some limits regarding the number of files you can receive on our platform, but also some limits regarding the maximum file size you can receive via a form submit on our platform.
Files
Files, files, files. There are of all kind of types (documents, images, archives, binary, executable files, legal or illegal kind of files, deceiving (containing viruses) files, etc). 20 years ago, there were so few restrictions about how files are stored, that you could say they weren’t exist. So if back in those days files were used to store bitmap graphics, textual documents, now in our days files are used in their primary scope in order to save storage space, save the environment, fast document searching (instead of manual hard-copy manual searching), and from time to time they are storing some of our (hopefully beautiful) memories.
Ability to store files inside the cloud, is a big achievement humanity could make, because back in those days when you had a photo, if you haven’t had the photo with you, and you wanted to show that photo to someone else, you would have to go back to your home, search for that photo, and finally show that piece of paper to that person. Now in these days where time cost money, the ability to store, search, and share the information is offered by our smart devices we all own like cellphones, smart TV devices, photo cameras, or why not smart watches, and the paper is … gone.
In our century we need to be connected to information, but this advantage in the same time raises the following questions:
- Should I trust someone else to store my personal digital information excepting myself?
- How can I be assured that my stored data on other companies storage solutions is not shared with any third parties?
- What is the data retention my storage provider is offering to me in case I don’t pay?
- How can I know that only I can access the data contents of the files I’m storing to my data provider?
- … and the list can go on

1. Allowed file types (Validation filter)
You have the ability to set a filter regarding the file types your File field can accept. If you don’t specify this filter, the responsibility of the files you accept via your forms comes to you, and you are the only responsible entity regarding the potential damage you might get after accessing those uploaded files.
Warning: We don’t validate file types by their contents, but only through their file extension. By default, any file you download from a source you don’t trust, should be scanned by an anti-virus software.
Supported file types are (Please notify us via our support form if you think another format should be added in those lists):

We accept pictures (or photos) via our data in the cloud storage.
Allowed pictures list file extension is:
PNG – Portable network graphics,
JPG – Joint Photographic Experts Group,
JPEG – Joint Photographic Experts Group,
GIF – Graphic Interchange Format,
BMP – Bitmap file,
TIFF – Tagged image file format,
RAW – Raw image format,
ANI – Animated mouse cursors,
ICO – Icon files
1.2. Documents
We accept Documents via our data in the cloud storage.
Allowed document file extensions list is:
DOC – Word for Windows/Word97 file (Microsoft),
DOCX – Word Open XML Format Document file (Microsoft),
XLS – eXceL Spreadsheet file (Microsoft),
ODT – OpenDocument Text Document file (OpenOffice),
PDF – Portable Document Format file (Adobe),
RTF – Rich Text Format file (Microsoft),
TEX – LaTex file,
WKS – Microsoft Works (Microsoft),
WPS – Rich Text Document (Microsoft),
WPD – Word Perfect Document (Satellite Systems International),

We accept video files via our data in the cloud storage.
Allowed video files extensions list is:
AVI – Audio Video Interleave (?),
FLV – Flash Video (Adobe),
WMV – Windows Media Video (Microsoft),

MP4 – MPEG-4 (?),
MKV– Matroska video (?),
MPG – Moving Picture Experts Group (?)

We accept audio files via our data in the cloud storage.
Allowed audio files extensions list is:
WAV – Waveform Audio File (?),
MP3 – Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) that uses “Layer 3” audio compression (?),
WMA – Windows Media Audio (Microsoft),
VORBIS – Free audio format (Free audio format)
1.5. Archive
We accept archive files via our data in the cloud storage.
Allowed archive file extensions list is:
ZIP – archive file format (Phil Katz, PKWARE, Inc),
RAR – archive file format (Eugene Roshal),
ARJ – Archived by Robert Jung (Robert Jung),
TAR – Tape ARchive file (Unix / Linux),
GZ – GNU Zip (Unix / Linux)
Please note: archived files are not scanned for viruses by default. If you accept archived files via your forms, please contact our support team in order to make this custom setting for you.
1.6. Text
We accept text documents via our data in the cloud storage. Text documents can contain also programming language text instructions, so be aware that they might present a vulnerability to your system in certain circumstances. Our systems cannot scan text files for viruses, because depending on the program interpreter that opens that text file, behaviors might get different results.
Allowed text files extensions list is:
TXT – Text file,
INI – Initialization file format
